New Europe(an) Digital Competitiveness report 2009 released
Today , a new Digital Competitiveness report from the European Comission has been released. A lot of things changed since the last report in 2005 (50 years ago in e-commerce time). Nevertheless the report can be handy for writing your internet strategy plan.
Some headlines:
56% of Europeans now regularly use the internet, 80% of them via a high-speed connection.
Europe is the world’s first truly mobile continent with more mobile subscribers than citizens (a take up rate of 119%)
Also interesting is that the so called ‘digital generation’ don’t want to pay to download or view online content. I think both business models and the european strategy need to change. But I will get into this in another post.
